Apprentice
Wages and Fringes
The established base rate of pay for the Apprenticeship Program is $18.41 per
hour. When apprentices are receiving their on-the-job training (OJT), they
will be paid a percentage of this rate based upon the number of on-the-job
training hours they have accumulated as outlined below.
At no time will the apprentice be paid less than the District of
Columbia minimum wage.

During the first 1000 hours of
on-the-job training, health insurance contributions will be submitted by
the employer on behalf of the apprentice to the
Laborers' Training & Apprenticeship Institute of Washington D.C. and
Vicinity. After the first 1000
hours and for the remainder of the program, the employer will submit
contributions for the full fringe benefit package including pension and
health insurance.
